I am so excited to introduce you to one of my favorite teenpreneurs who is on a mission to empower one million youth! Meet Danette Makaila:
In 2011, her mom founded the Youth Success Academy and this year Danette is bringing it back – better than ever before!
Danette Makaila is not only the 17 – year – old CEO of Danette Makaila International, but she is also a fashion designer, actress, national speaker, and 2 time published author. Danette Makaila discovered her interest in entrepreneurship at the age of 5 as she watched her older brother operate his snack vending business. Danette finally started her first company – Princess Jewels at age 9, making and selling sterling silver jewelry for kids. Then at age 15, Danette rebranded her company into PJ Style – a designer clothing and accessory boutique. When Danette is not traveling the world speaking or acting, you can find her on runways such as New York Fashion Week, Virginia Fashion Week, and Charlotte Fashion Week showcasing her clothing line for teen girls. But then again, she did say “it is young people that will change the world” Danette Makaila’s mantra is “Nothing is impossible when you dream with your eyes wide open” which she uses to encourage the kids at Children’s Hospital – her charity of choice. Today, Danette Makaila International is home to: PJ Style Boutique and Youth Success Academy. Danette’s future dreams are, but certainly not limited to, expanding her company to an in-store and online boutique, founding an amusement park for the conversation and rescue of dolphins around the world, and creating a new school curriculum that focuses on not only academics, but also career readiness and life skills.
To celebrate the return of Youth Success Academy, Danette is hosting an exciting 5-day challenge on social media March 23 – 27, where teens can compete to win her brand new Success Takes Action Homestudy Course, 100% free! (Valued at $497)
